Welcome
to the the Local Memphis Chapter of ASHRAE. Our membership includes
engineers, architects, contractors, equipment vendors, manufacturers,
consultants and others interested in designing and constructing
building HVAC systems.
ASHRAE, founded in 1894, is a building technology
society with more than 50,000 members worldwide. The Society and its
members focus on building systems, energy efficiency, indoor air quality
and sustainability within the industry. Through research, standards
writing, publishing and continuing education, ASHRAE shapes tomorrow’s
built environment today.
ASHRAE will be the global leader, the
foremost source of technical and educational information, and the primary
provider of opportunity for professional growth in the arts and sciences
of heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigerating. ASHRAE’s areas of expertise include
energy efficiency, indoor air quality, codes and standards, and
guidance for a safe environment during extraordinary incidents. Its
sole objective is to advance through research standards writing and
continuing education the arts and sciences of heating, ventilation, air
conditioning and refrigeration to serve the evolving needs of the
public.
Membership in ASHRAE is open to any person
associated with heating, ventilation, air conditioning or refrigeration.
Membership allows access to information about state-of-the-art
HVAC&R technology and provides many opportunities to participate in
the development of that technology. Participation is available locally
through this chapter, and at the national level through membership on
ASHRAE Society committees which are responsible for the development of
standards, or through technical committees which advise the Society on
research needs and emerging technologies.
Our ASHRAE Chapter also provides an opportunity for members to become
involved in the Society at the local level. Members who might not
be able to participate at the national level, can further their
knowledge of the industry, network with others in the same industry,
mentor younger members, and contribute to their community at large
through Chapter programs.
